I find the challenge of treating various gastrointestinal diseases rewarding, and creating a positive patient experience fulfilling.
Dr. Lynda Hoang, DO, MPH became interested in medicine after volunteering at a nursing home for mentally disabled seniors during high school. There, she learned the importance of compassion and empathy in patient care, which became her passion and sparked the dream of becoming a physician. To Dr. Hoang, gastroenterology encompasses critical thinking, internal medicine, and endoscopic therapy. From the gastrointestinal anatomy to managing various chronic diseases, gastroenterology provides a continuity of patient care, enabling her to form a strong patient-physician relationship while allowing her to diagnose and treat diseases.
When asked about the “motto” of her practice: “A wise attending once told me that patients will not remember where you graduated from or the awards you received, but they will remember the way you treated them and how you made them feel – which became the motto of my practice. Therefore, I incorporate touch, compassion, and communication in my daily practice to develop a strong patient-physician relationship and a positive care experience.”
Dr. Hoang is a fitness enthusiast and believes in maintaining both physical and mental health. She consistently incorporates resistance and cardio workouts into her training regimen, and has a personal goal to one day compete in a physique competition.
